Rompers are like the pre-stage of designer kids clothes. It’s a full body outfit for toddlers and it consists of only one piece of garment (FYI: There are also rompers for women; it’s one piece of garment that is both shirt and shorts.). Needless to say, there are some different criteria when purchasing a romper than you would for “normal” designer kids clothes. Nevertheless, fashion starts early so let’s look at rompers instead of designer kids clothes for once!
Rompers have a loose fit, which is very important since it is for toddlers. Your toddler must be able to move his legs and arms easily when wearing a romper. And this is already one important criteria when shopping for rompers: your child must be able to move freely (without looking like it’s wearing a tent). Also check that the collar doesn’t put any pressure on your child’s throat when he or she is lying on his back with spread out arms and legs (some kids like to do that). Thankfully, the industry is so good in using standardized sizes, that you probably won’t have lots of problems finding a loose enough romper that still fits. Nevertheless, make a quick check after your online purchase.
Secondly, you absolutely need to make sure there are buttons to open up the pants/shorts of the romper. It is going to make changing diapers and cleaning your child so much easier! And thirdly, and this is probably what you have been waiting for, there is different toddler fashion to consider. Don’t sacrifice any of the two criteria above for fashion purposes, but also don’t buy a romper that is not your style of fashion. Even for rompers, they have different styles for different occasion: Sleeping, daytime, dinner parties, swimsuits etc. In my opinion, the most important romper outfit is going to be for the daytime. This is usually the romper your child is going to wear the most.
So I have looked at different rompers and would like to show you energetic and refreshing rompers from Stardust. So here are the 5 must-have designer kids clothes trends for your fashionable daughter in the upcoming days of fall.
Trend 1: Sweater Dresses & Leggings
They look really cute on little girls and they are very famous this season because they are so comfortable; simple but still very fashionable. This is the perfect outfit, especially if your daughter is one who usually likes to keep it simple without too many gadgets.
The leggings give her the extra feminine look and there are a lot of options to go with this style: For example a colorful sweater with standard leggings (laced up or not). Mixed knit-dresses appear to look very nice with leggings as well. You should try out different patterns and prints with different colors that match with the colorful fall leaves or just simple colors for the grey and darker ambiance during fall.
A sweater dress is easy to slip in and looks stylish, like “jeggings”, which is another must-have. They look like very tight jeans (denim) but they are actually leggings with a special print. To complete this outfit, chose a pair of flat ballet shoes or some comfy UGG boots during the colder days for your daughter.
Trend 2: Graphic T-Shirts & Sweaters
This is a trend for both, boys and girls. It is the perfect way to let everybody know what your girl likes and what she wants to express. Maybe it’s a cute “Hello-Kitty” or some other logo or phrase your daughter wants everybody to see. The same thing goes for sweaters and hoodies. This way, your daughter can show her cool logos even if it’s colder outside.
Trend 3: Old School
The vintage look is another top fashion trend for infant girls because it reminds mothers of their own childhood and they just can’t resist to buying some of these clothing items for their own daughters. There are a lot of options, like a flower power jacket, clothes with peace logos or the well-known converse shoes in many different colors.
The vintage hype is a good reason to let your girl wear a funky leather jacket that has a used look. And as a mother, let her know what you were wearing when you were younger, it will make this fashion trend more meaningful.
Trend 4: Mix’n Match

Every female, from infant girl to woman, should have a skirt in her wardrobe. Therefore, it is one of the most important topics to cover in the infant girl clothes market. Skirts can project any kind of fashion theme and any kind of look. They are comfortable for every woman/ girl (or even men i.e. the Scottish), they can have many different designs and can be worn in every kind of situation. For example, at a business meeting, for shopping, for a walk with the dog or any other situation. On a side note: Women in the medieval times have already worn skirts.
But the reason why girls are able to wear skirts in so many different situations throughout a lifetime is that there are so many different kinds of skirts with so many different colors and patterns. This huge variety of skirts can give your daughter any type of look, i.e. that of an eager student or even that of a cute ballerina.
Here is a list of the most important and most famous different types of skirts:
A-Line Skirts
This is the basic skirt that has gotten so many different designs. Throughout the many years it has been worn by a lot of different kind of women since it was first brought up in the Dior collection in spring in 1955. The name is given because of the slight ‘A’-shape – which means that this skirt is tight at the hips and widens downwards the legs.
Flared Skirts
Actually, flared skirts are a type of A-line skirt but the difference is special flares starting at the waistline. Women with all types of proportions can wear this skirt very well because of these flares around the waist.
Fit and Flare Skirts
This variation of the flare skirt lets the flares already start from the hips, not the waist. Girls with smaller backs usually prefer these skirts because it gives them better-looking hips and thigh curves.
Straight Skirts
Like the name says, these skirts are completely straight from the hips to the legs. Girls with almost any kinds of proportions can wear them, although the body shape is an important factor for the length and waistline of the skirt.
Pencil Skirts
Pencil skirts especially fit thin and skinny women because they are really tight and tend to point out at the back and at the thighs. From the waist to just above the knees, they usually have a stretch material due to its tight frame tolet the girl wearing it move more freely.
Tube Skirts
The tube skirt can be described as an extension of the pencil skirt because it goes down below the knees but is just as tight as the pencil skirt. It is also worn best by rather skinny girls and women. This is probably one of the skirts that doesn’t fit girls very well and is mostly worn by women.
Mini Skirts
This is a very brave skirt to wear and probably shouldn’t be worn by too young girls as it is extremely short which means that most parts of the legs are visible. They can look very cute though in the summer, as long as they aren’t too short because then they are rather provocative.
Pleated Skirts
Pleated skirts can be worn both by slim girls and girls who have rather big hips. This type of skirt ends just above the knees and it is tailored completely with vertical pleats which fit the waist. These pleats loosen up the skirt a bit by keeping it firm and fitting at the same time.
Asymmetric Hem Skirts
Asymmetric hem skirts have a big variety of shapes and patterns so that they suit all girls and women with all possible proportions. It looks like the hem of the skirt was tailored with a flaw but that is actually the sense of this type of skirt to give it the asymmetric look. This skirt is very popular amongst latin music dancers in contests.

Gucci, one of the dominating fashion houses from Italy, recently announced to release their first childrens designer clothes collection aiming at kids from 0 to 8 years. The first Spring/ Summer collection 2011 will drop in November. Their designer kids clothes line uses classical designs mixed with a cool casual look and not only includes usual kids clothes as shoes or jackets, they are also trying to develop a new market whilst creating stylish accessories for kids, such as sunglasses, belts or jewelry.
The infant boy clothes line represents a cool, casual look in smooth leather jacket, nice, loose fitting jeans and the iconic gucci monogram loafers. A course was set with the little gucci details just like the belt in this picture or the classic gucci coloured stripes on the shirt.
The infant girl clothes line is not going for the usual girly image with bright colours and cheerful accessories. The outfit represents a cool city-look but made look chic. It consists of comfortable boots, washed jeans and a nice shirt with the picture of a handbag, maybe just like one that mommy owns. The trench coat makes the outfit look so lady-like in an utterly fashionable way.
As a lot of kids probably wouldn’t be as excited as their parents on a “Double G” logo, Gucci made a new logo for their childrens designer clothes: a golden teddy bear. Not only does it look very fashionable, kids also profit from their designer kids clothingas Gucci only uses the best materials and the items will last longer.
